INDORE: It is that time of the year when one usually avoids stepping out of home, courtesy the scorching summer heat. And for those who like to spend their leisure time in nature's lap, the summer sun is a big deterrence. But, there are a few who continue with their passion of spending time with the nature, if not during the day, then at night.
ToI talked to a few who keep the spirit alive and like to take-up activities such as trekking and camping during the night hours.
Arijit Malakar, a marketing professional, says "Spending nights in night clubs, drinking and dancing is not my idea to add thrill to my monotonous life. I would rather spend a night in the nature's lap with a group of friends and explore the wild. Also, night camping and trekking does not disrupt ones working hours."
Secretary Outdoor Adventures and Environment Institute Dr. Manish Mukati said "I have been going on adventure camps for past many years now, but recently I developed a keen interest in night camping, as there is involved a high thrill quotient."
"Night camping is our answer to the scorching summer heat. It not only relieves the campers from the summer heat, but also gives them a splendid experience of camping or trekking under the moonlight. It gives us a chance to understand the nightlife in the wild. Star gazing is one more interesting activity that can be undertaken," Jain added
Chairman Youth Hostels Association (YHA) Indore, Umakant Mahajan said, "We had recently organized a night camp in Maheshwar where we received a good response. In last five years, we have observed an increased interest in people as far as night trekking and camping is concerned."
